This photograph deals with identity, isolation, and belonging. Over several years, I have photographed a single human in places where one would usually find gatherings such as theatres, schools, places of worship and city parks. This solitary subject is placed in familiar surroundings devoid of others. The scenes provide a path to fears and dreams. We are social animals needing each other. This ongoing body of work is more relevant now than ever before during the pandemic of Covid19. Images stand on their own but become eerie when seen together.
